چکیده

In this paper, shape memory alloys (SMAs) (NiTi-based) have been manufactured by casting with a different atomic percentage of silver element (0, 1, 2 and 3 at. % Ag) using Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) furnace. The is added to the binary due its excellent properties such as (anti-corrosion, anti-bacterial high electrical conductivity), which make these in wider applications. These percentages (Ni55Ti45Ag0, Ni55Ti44Ag1, Ni55Ti43Ag2 Ni55Ti42Ag3) manufactured. successful manufacturing process has achieved proved via examinations tests. FESEM microscopic show that distributed uniformly homogeneously NiTi matrix. Moreover, emergence austenite phase, martensite phase little amount impurities. Regarding XRD examination, showed there an increase number peaks Ag element, well (Ti2Ni) upon heating, (Ti 002) cooling, (Ni4Ti3) not desired. starting finishing transformations determined for all samples DSC test. Shape Memory Effect (SME) alloy (Ni50Ti42Ag3) measured be about 89.99%.

Improving of Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Al-A356 Alloy with Compo-Casting Method

Aluminum/alumina composites are used in automotive and aerospace industries due to their low density and good mechanical strength. In this research, the effect of mechanical stirring of slurry in liquid-solid phase temperature and injection of alumina powder with inert gas (Ar) on microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-A356 alloy is investigated. In order to improve of the wettability a...

Microstructure and precipitates in annealed Co38Ni33Al29 ferromagnetic shape memory alloy

Transmission electron microscopy was performed to investigate the microstructure and precipitates in the annealed Co38Ni33Al29 ferromagnetic shape memory alloy. Apart from the dendritic secondary phase in the austenite matrix, micron-sized (up to 100 lm) fcc-based precipitates with partial c0 L12 ordering and containing none, one or three {111}p parallel twin planes were found. The orientation ...

Finite Element Modelling and Simulation of Phase Transformations in Shape Memory Alloy Thin Films

A unified variational framework and finite element simulations of phase transformation dynamics in a shape memory alloy thin film are reported in this paper. The computational model is based on an approach, which combines the lattice based kinetics involving the order variables and nonequilibrium thermodynamics. Algorithmic and computational issues are discussed. Numerical results on phase nucl...

Effect of Deformation-Induced Defects on the Microstructure and Pitting Corrosion Behavior of Al-Ag Alloy

In this study, a wide range of combined ageing treatments and cold work deformations in the Al 4.2 wt% Ag alloy matrix were proposed, aiming to investigate the effect of defects such as precipitates (Ag2Al plates) and dislocations on the mechanical and electrochemical behavior of Al–4.2 wt% Ag alloys. Further reductions of thickness from 10 to 60%, decreases the mean size of Ag2...
